Al Tama and Marianna Levtov bring global expertise and operational scale to strengthen Hoopo’s leadership in smart asset tracking and fleet intelligence.
Phoenix, AZ - June 11th, 2025 - Hoopo, a global leader in tracking and fleet intelligence solutions for unpowered assets, announced today the appointment of two senior executives: Al Tama, a former Orbcomm executive and long-time commercial and product leader in IoT-driven logistics, and Marianna Levtov, an internationally recognized authority on smart container standards, former senior leader at Nexxiot, and strategic advisor to companies driving industrial innovation.
These strategic appointments reinforce Hoopo’s position as a trusted provider of smart tracking solutions and mark a decisive step toward global leadership in fleet visibility and container intelligence.
Al Tama joins as General Manager, North America
Tama brings more than 20 years of experience scaling IoT solutions across maritime, intermodal, and port operations. He has held leadership roles at both Orbcomm and WAM Technologies, where he oversaw major global deployments, including with Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd, and pioneered the industry’s first wireless reefer container monitoring solution.
“Hoopo’s approach-combining rugged hardware with intelligent, scalable software, is exactly what the industry needs to move from data collection to operational decision-making” said Tama.
Levtov brings a rare combination of technical insight and policy influence in smart container standardization. She has held senior roles at Nexxiot and Aeler Technologies, contributed to Hapag-Lloyd’s fleet digitization, and currently leads global standardization efforts as ISO Convenor for Smart Containers. Her work is shaping the regulatory and technical frameworks that are driving the industry forward. She is completing a PhD on smart containers and digital sovereignty in logistics while also authoring a forthcoming book on supply chain technology transformation.
“This is a pivotal moment for smart logistics,” said Levtov. “What Hoopo is building is a new language for visibility - grounded in real-world execution, but bold enough to shape what’s next.”
“These aren’t just hires, they reflect the company Hoopo is positioned to be.” said Ittay Hayut, CEO and Co-Founder of Hoopo. “Marianna brings global perspective and standardization influence. Al brings deep operational expertise and customer insight. Together, they strengthen our ability to lead the future of smart shipping and transportation.”
As Hoopo scales globally, these appointments position the company to lead across the full spectrum of smart logistics - from rugged tracking solutions to scalable, enterprise-grade fleet intelligence.
